Anupam Mittal Slams Claims Of Shark Tank India Judges Delaying Funding Of Businesses; Wonders ‘Ab Next Kya Hoga?’ As He Addresses Allegations
Earlier in June, a Twitterati named Anmol Sharma had taken the internet by storm when he claimed to expose the delayed funding scam run by the judges of Shark Tank India. Being one of the first business-based reality shows on Indian television, it enjoys a huge fan following. In a series of tweets, he explained the procedure of the show and alleged that rather than helping new businesses stand on their feet, the show is more beneficial for the sharks as the TV channel it airs on.

Well, weeks after the tweet went viral, one of the judges, Anupam Mittal took to his official social media handle to react to the allegations. Taking to Instagram, the Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com, shared a creative of dogs, dressed in suits, surrounding and barking at a shark, also dressed in a suit, who is sitting on a table. Sharing the picture that has ‘Bark Tank streaming now’ written on it, he wondered which allegations will the judges have to face again. ALSO READ: WHAT! For the unversed, Anupam had also recently taken to his LinkedIn profile to share a lengthy note addressing the rumour of the show being scripted. A part of his post read, “First it was ‘Sharks do not invest their own money’, then ‘Oh, the show is scripted’ & then ‘Sharks only fund profitable cos’. In every case, it’s not hard to spot a pre-determined, ill-intentioned narrative with no data or sources to back said claims.” ALSO READ: Shark Tank India Is Scripted? Talking about the show, it is an Indian franchise of the American show of the same name, where known entrepreneurs listen to different business ideas and decide whether or not they want to invest in those ideas. Last season saw Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boat), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics), Peyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com) and Amit Jain (Co-Founder of CarDekho) as the sharks.

Amit had replaced Ashneer Grover (Former Founder of BharatPe) as the judge and even Gazal Alagh (Co-founder of Mamaearth) did not return. While the first season was hosted by Rannvijay Singha, the second one was hosted by Rahul Dua. The show airs on Sony Entertainment Television.
